The Face Shop Rice & Ceramide Moisture Set Review

Annongsainyo mga teh!

Since we can no longer wait for our online orders to arrive, we went to the nearest Korean beauty store which is The Face Shop.  While browsing along their products, and being overwhelmed with them, we noticed that they have skincare sets, yes!! We then purchased the Rice & Ceramide Moisture Set!

This costs 95SR.  When you buy them separately they cost 30SR for the toner, 30SR for the emulsion and 35SR for the cream ~~ we realized we did not save any money buying the set, but we got a box! ha.ha.ha.

This product is actually the cheapest set available that contains the basics: toner, emulsion and cream.

When we got home, we googled some reviews and we read that they some really don't like the smell of it, they say it is strong.  However, for us, its sweet and actually relaxing and refreshing.  The smell eventually comes off after application, so it is not a big deal for us.

We did a little research (we are not experts) and here are what we discovered, lets break it down.

RICE:

We found out that rice can actually change the texture and clarity of your skin, making it smooth and bright. Rice is also helpful treating eczema.  (isn't it amazing!)

CERAMIDE:

Ceramide restores moisture and has anti-aging benefits, also for eczema. (so, amazing!)

Okay, with that being said, lets move on to the product review.

THE TONER:

The consistency of this toner is kinda thick compared to other toners that we are used to.  There is no stingy feeling. It is easily absorbed by the skin.  It is indeed moisturizing, leaving your skin feeling soft and hydrated after usage.  This toner did not break us out and irritations.

THE EMULSION:

This is light, milky in consistency, and definitely moisturizing.  It left our skin feeling refreshed, soft and hydrated.  Not sticky and is easily absorbed (you need to do the "tap! tap! tap! technique" for maximum effect).

THE CREAM:

The last step is the cream.  We notice nothing special with this cream but a small amount is actually enough to cover your whole face and neck and feels silky while being applied.

We use this every morning before applying BB cream, or you can go and skip that and go bare faced. Just don't forget to use your SPF +++++

THE VERDICT:

Overall, we have noticed that our skin appears a bit brighter after several days of us using this, and even our dart spots and scars lighten a bit!  Our skin also feels supple, well-nourished and a bit firmer.  This is definitely a keep and will definitely use it regularly.

PROS:

Affordable.
Sweet scent.
Gentle on the skin.
Even outs skin tone and brightens dark spots by a bit.
Keeping your skin healthy, moisturizing and smooth.

CONS:

None for us.

We would recommend this line for those who like to try Korean skincare for the first time, simple yet great results.

How about you, have you tried this, how was it?

It's Skin Power 10 Formula Effector VC review :D

Amazon.com description says:  A concentrated brightening & pore reducing facial serum-Enriched with Vitamin C & Green Tea derivatives to effectively suppress melanin production-Stimulates collagen synthesis to reduce the appearance of skin discoloration. Refines skin texture & reduces enlarged pores. Unveils a smoother brighter even-toned & healthier looking complexion. Dermatologist-tested.

In ibuybeauti.com (where I bought it for $8.43 - cheaper then other sites), this is under the category of an Ampule / serum.  So basically, this goes after your essence if you do follow the Korean routine of:  Double Cleanse - Toner - Essence - Ampule or Serum - Emulsion - Eye cream - Cream, and the list goes on.

It has a very vitamin-y feel to it, with its glass and dropper effect. Actually, this reminds me of those infant vitamins so, WARNING: Keep out of reach of children -- no, really, seriously.

This serum is quite thick.  It smell very citrus-y, it smells like Vitamin C.  It does not feel sticky. It does not sting. It is absorbed by the skin fairly quickly.

Just like other serum, after your essence, or after toner if you are skipping the essence. I use this in the morning and evening with just two drops, it is good to go, its up to you. In the morning, don't forget the sunblock, and at night your emulsion or any moisturizer. Oh, and before I forget, for maximum effect and absorption TAP, TAP, TAP it on your face.

I've noticed that my complexion improved, its no longer dull and lifeless. My acne scars lighten.  My pores, they are still the same, though.

I really like It's Skin Power 10 Formula Effector VC. I am using this for two weeks now and because I'm seeing really nice effect on my skin, I will definitely buy this again. I want to see its full potential, lets give this more time.

How it all started + Ibuybeauti website Review

Annongsayo mga teh!

Who wouldn't love Koreanovelas? (Dao-ming Su, oh its Taiwanese).  Anyway, yes, at first, we are just Koreanovela fans (asian dramas and movies also).  Then, we started noticing the Korean actresses (even the actors, gosh!) on how beautiful and how perfect their skins are.  We got curious on how they achieve that kind of glow and so we started researching about their skincare regimen.

We then discovered that Korean skincare have not only three steps, not five, but ten, maybe more. We are kinda overwhelmed by it but that doesn't stop us from trying.  We found a blogger and YouTuber, Beautybreakdown, and we are fascinated on her skincare routine and her reviews on products, that inspired us more.  From then on, we started watching her videos and also other Korean YouTubers to learn more on their skincare routines and recommended products.

Since we are from the Philippines but we are currently living in the Middle East, we don't have easy access on Korean products.  But we discovered an online shop ibuybeauti.com. Yey!

Our first order was on May 4, 2016, but until now we haven't received it yet.  We already reached out to them and they told us to wait and assured us that we will have our money back after the said waiting period of 45 days. Since we are so eager to try Korean Skincare, we ordered again from ibuybeauti.com and encountered a delay on their shipping because one of the mask we ordered was out of stock, but they replaced it with other mask so that it can be shipped immediately. After 3 weeks, it arrived safe and sound.

Here are the products we ordered and some samples!:

Though we had some (uncontrollable) issues on our orders, we do recommend you to try ibuybeauti.com.

Here are some reasons to why we love IBBI.

  • Their website is really easy to navigate, they have their products categorized and for newbies like us this is really helpful because we know that Korean regimen is so overwhelming for beginners.
  • Their prices are a lot cheaper compared to other online Korean skincare shops.  Another reason is their shipping method, they offer free worldwide shipping for orders $50 above, free Regular Shipping for orders above $50 with tracking number for only $2.50, then also have EMS at a very reasonable price.
  • IBBI customer service is really great, friendly, helpful and  responsive on our queries.
  • Lastly, freebies! who doesn't love freebies!

We are satisfied with ibuybeauti, that we ordered again!! woohoo!

We cant wait for our orders to arrive and we can see ourselves ordering more from them!
